The Sumba Foundation is deeply committed to lessening the consequences of poverty on the island of Sumba. Their aim is to provide humanitarian aid by fostering village-based projects that impact health (including services and malaria control), education, water and income-generation, while preserving and respecting the fragile culture and traditions of the Sumbanese people.
The Quiksilver Foundation has been supporting the Sumba Foundation for the past 7 years. During that time we have been able to provided the necessary funding to build the Rua Valley Malaria Clinic, (a very valuable medical clinic for the region) and also help fund the completion of the Sodan Village water project.
