2003: ISO 14001 certification of our EMS 

2004: Quiksilver Foundation creation 

2007: Quiksilver Initiative became Quiksilver Foundation Europe and the Sustainable Development cell

Carbon Footprint

Carbon Footprint

Evaluating our carbon footprinbt is an opportunity for us to assess our dependance regarding fossil energies et to start an effective process in order to reduce our Green House Gases (GHG) emissions now that we identified them.

In order to reduce our carbon footprint, here is our action plan:

  • The invoices’ dematerialization that started the 18th of June 2012 will allow a cut of 23 tons of CO2 in our GHG emissions
  • We have worked on a brand new packaging made out of molded recycled paper and cardboard for our snowboard helmets. The packaging perfectly fits the helmet shape,  which allow to divide its carbon footprint by two since the amount of product transported by truck is multiplied by 4 compare to the usual cardboard packaging.

Two other measures are at work: reducing GHG emissions on freight out by only dealing  with carrier matching our ecological expectations. The other one focus on our travel agency which is going to bring train into general use,  provide eco-conduct training and it will also favor hotels embracing sustainable development values.

Finally, we are also involved in a carbon offset process, since some events organized by Na Pali (Quiksilver Europe) have been offset as the Roxy Snow Pro for 3 years now.
